Buying Night Gala: October 3, 2026
at qathet Art Centre

The 8×8 Anonymous Art Show is a show featuring unique 8″x 8″ (x 8” for 3D) artworks made by local, emerging, and professional artists sold at a minimum ticket of $88. Artists remain anonymous, signing only the back/botttom.
Tickets sales will open on August 8 (8/8) in celebration of qathet art+wares birthday. Opportunities for top choice options of the 8”x 8” artwork will be available at the Buying Night Gala event. Join the fun and celebrate art with qathet art+wares Master of Ceremonies Bad Karen and local artists. Funds raised will go towards families in need to access youth art programs.
Call to Artists for 8”x8” artwork
Deadline for artwork submissions: Sept 15, 2026
- Art must be 8×8 in size. Artwork can be 8x8x8 for 3D artists.
- Discounted canvases for art making available at qathet art+wares.
- Any media accepted.
- Signed with name and title only on bottom or back. Mark an arrow to the top of artwork.
- Artwork will be donated to qathet Art Council and any unsold pieces will be used for future fundraising.
- Drop off anytime at qathet art+wares or qathet Art Centre until Sept 15.
- All funds raised go towards qathet Art Youth Programs. See more below.
- Donating Artists receive admission to the gala event on October 3, 2026 and acknowledgement in the qathet Art promotions. Thank you for sharing your art!
Fundraising Goals and Community Support Needed to Keep Youth Art Programs Safe, Thriving and Accessible for all Families
Why Youth Art Programs Matter
For over a decade, qathet ART’s Youth Art Programs (camps, exhibitions, classes, gatherings) have been some of our region’s most loved programs for children of all ages. For example, each summer, 180+ children take part in hands-on, imaginative, screenfree learning through weeklong summer camps exploring diverse art forms. These summer art camps build confidence, collaboration, problemsolving, and independence—while giving families affordable, high quality summer care.
Why We Need Your Support
A significant reduction in funding in 2026 (CSJ, BCAC) means that we must raise $12,000 to support running our youth art programs at full capacity to meet increasing community needs. In meeting this goal by 2027, we hope to continue:
- Connecting children with practicing artists and art making
- Providing access to subsidized art programs for families
- Creating options for outdoor exploration, creative problem solving and “out of the box” art making for young people
- Supporting inclusive attention for diverse needs of every child
