Brenda Neall, a professional potter for nearly 20 yrs, first opened her home Studio & Showroom, Down to Earth Clayworks, in 2008. Brenda is primarily a functional potter, producing wares for use in the home. She has been absent from her studio for a few years and is excited to be back producing pots for the Tour.
Shann Carmichael has been a potter for many years. In addition to functional, wheel thrown forms, Shann has done several series of innovative hand-built works, including a collection of shoes, stacked book totems, and personalized decorative mini benches.
Leah Perrin is an emerging local potter working under her studio name Everwild Mudworks. A former student of Brenda’s, Leah produces creative wheel thrown and hand-built forms. She incorporates fun surfacing techniques such as sgraffito and layered glazing into some of her work.
James McQuarrie, previously worked in clay mediums, but has now turned his hand to small piece wood carving. His primary wood source is locally found drift wood, which he turns into intriguing character faces, suitable for home wall-hangings or gardens.
