There are many paths to take in making a painting. In this class we will use a painterly approach to build up the medium and create our artwork. Using energetic mark making, value systems, blocking, adding, and subtracting. You will break up the representational picture with your brushstrokes to reveal the subject. Allowing our imaginations to explore, you will mix the process of flow with a sprinkle of technical training, with gesso, palette knives and brushes.

Please bring :
- a paining surface board or canvas
- a sampling of brushes
- a basic colour palette of red, yellow, blue, black and white. *The studio does have brushes, water tubs, and palette knives to experiment with.
- several reference images that you’re interested in using.
